Luca Fiorentini
Was born in Venice in 1966, and studied at the local Conservatory with Prof. Adriano Vendramelli. In 1987 he obtained his diploma at the Conservatory of Milan with Prof. Rocco Filippini. He took part in several masterclasses with famous musicians as Paul Tortelier, Anner Bijlsma, David Geringas, Daniel Shaffran, Piero Farulli and Franco Rossi (from the “Quartetto Italiano”), Dario De Rosa (from the “Trio di Trieste”). He frequented several musical Academies as: “Stauffer in Cremona, “Chigiana” in Siena, “Mozarteum” in Salzburg. For five years he studied in the “Musik Hochschule” in Wien in the class of Wolfgang Herzer. Winner of 3 first prices in National Competitions, he has played in several countries as a soloist and as a member of the “Quartetto Malipiero” after “Quartetto Tiepolo”, playing also for important televisions and radio broadcasting. Since 1989 he played for six years with the “Wiener Philharmoniker Orchestra” and with the “Staatsoper Orchestra”. In the same time he was cellist of the “Gustav Mahler Quartett” together with members of the “Wiener Philharmoniker” and he took part with this quartett in many tournées also playing in quintett with the first clarinett of the “Wiener Philharmoniker” Peter Schmidl. In April 1990 he has recorded for the Sony-Cbs (Classic masterworks) the string sextett of Schönberg “Verklärte Nacht”. From 1992 to 1994 he was teacher of cello in the music school of Fiesole; from the same year he become teacher of string quartett class at the Conservatory of Sassari.
